I took these pictures yesterday, June
12, 2008, south of Siler City, NC.
The photo of the anomoly in the sky above the trees was taken
in the early afternoon and was not present in the picture while I
was taking it. At first I thought it was a bird, and I am pretty
careful NOT to take pictures with birds in them. Upon closer
examination, I was suprised to see the shape and the pink hue. I
don't have photoshop so I am not able to put them together in the
same photo, sorry.
The evening shot was taken at 9:00 PM, or so. I was out walking
the dog and decided to take some more photos. I was quite suprised
to find the red sphere. It was not visible to the naked eye. I was
simply taking a reference shot of the moon (bigger white spot),
and there it was! Both sightings were located on either side of
the ridge that I live on.
Camera used is a Fujifilm FinePix S700, set on the auto
setting. No zoom used.
